How wonderful to experience the love that a family can give but even more wonderful is the love that one can experience by being a part of God's family.
Gods word in John 3:16 give us a revealing look at the heart of God where it says "For God so loved the world, that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
The truth is that God demonstrated His love for you when He sent His son to this earth to die on the cross. His desire is to make you part of His family.
The question then becomes what can you do to become a member of the family of God?
The answer is, you cant do anything, Jesus already did it for you when He gave His life for you on the cross.
Jesus Christ is the only way you can become a part of the family of God.
Jesus said of Himself, " ...I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." (John 14:6).
You become a part of the family of God by humbling yourself before God and following a few simple but necessary steps:
1. Acknowledge your need for forgiveness of sin. "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;" (Romans 3:23)
2. Realize that only Jesus Christ can save you from judgment and make you a part of the family of God through His sacrificial death, burial and resurrection. "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." (Romans 6:23)
3. Trust Him as your personal Savior by calling upon Him in prayer. "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." (Romans 10:13)
You call upon the Lord by simply talking to Him in prayer. Pray this prayer to God:
Dear God, I know that you love me and want to save me. Jesus, I know you died to save me from my sins. You promised you would save me if I trust in you. Jesus I do trust in you right now as my Lord and Savior. I believe you’re the Son of God, and you paid my sin debt with your blood on the cross. I confess my sin, turn from it and turn to you by faith. Forgive me for my sins and save me Lord Jesus. By faith Lord right now I receive your gift of salvation. Thank you for saving me Lord Jesus!
