Paula Murray is a retired 1st grade teacher and Grandma Cummings is her assistant. The class for 4 to 6 year olds focuses on the life of Christ and His miracles. The children also learn about the lives of God's people from the Old and New Testaments and how the Lord protects and guides them. Through learning Bible verses the children are taught to learn what is commanded and how to live that way.
Around CrossPoint I am known as “Grand-mom”. The children call me grand-mom because I am 101 years old. I have been saved 80 years. Jesus filled my heart with His great love and with a love for children. Over the years I have shared His Word and love with thousands of Sunday school students and will continue to do so until He calls me home. I am so blessed by your children. I assist Paula Murry and “grand-mom” Dot Cummings with the 4 and 5 year olds. I accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior August 15, 1990, and serve our Lord in Sunday school and junior church. I love working with the children; they truly are a gift from our Lord. My husband and I have two sons, two daughters-in-law, and three grandchildren that attend CrossPoint Baptist Church. Welcome to our Sunday school class for first, second and third grades. My name is Mrs. Patricia Flores and I will be teaching you wonderful Bible truths about our Lord Jesus and we’ll sing songs to our Lord (even in Spanish - Wow!). We’ll play games, have birthday treats, parties and you’ll meet new friends too.
Guess who else will be with us? A sweet lady named Mrs. Karen Rutynowski. She too will be having fun with us (Hurray!).
Let me tell you a little about me. I accepted the Lord Jesus when I was 12 years old, but I really started to know him when I got married in First Baptist Church of Perth Amboy, New Jersey. I was a member there for 12 years. I taught Sunday school class for six years and helped with the bus ministry, I drove the “Big Yellow Bus” (only by the grace of God). Now the Lord has brought me to Cross Point Baptist Church which is a wonderful place to worship our God. I have a wonderful family, my husband Jaime Flores and our four children Jimena,(13 years old), Andrea (12 years old), Lucia (8 years old) and Daniel (6 years old). - Patricia Flores
